FROM GUYS BOOK – add and reword. Cormier began in April 1951 as a junior structure mechanic and progressed through various maintenance roles, including Arctic Dewline duty. Recognised for his exceptional commitment, Cormier became the go-to person for special tasks, earning him the titles of Special Projects Foreman and later Manager of Special Projects. He handled diverse responsibilities, from company projects to public relations and salvage sales. Day and night, Cormier, rarely seen without an unlit cigar, embodied the Flying Tigers’ can-do spirit, from collecting gifts and donations for orphanages in Vietnam and Korea to setting up Christmas events, retirement parties and employee picnics.
